Colorado!

In June, we were invited to Colorado with the Cummings family.
They own a great cabin just outside of Telluride where we hiked,
went horseback riding, and had a ton of fun!
Greg, Tonya, Taryn, Tobi and Tatum showed us a wonderful time,
and it was great to get to know them better!
Hey 4Ts&G, thanks for a much needed vacation!

Here are Clara, Tobi, Taryn and Tatum patiently waiting for
the 'Horsie Rides'.

This was Tobi's first time on a horse- she was so brave!

Taryn seems to be an ol' pro! She loved it!

Tatum got her own personal horseback ride.
She was grinning ear to ear the whole time! Too cute!

Clara wanted to be like the other girls!

The instructor let her sit on the horse and walk around a little bit.
She wasn't afraid at all! She loved it! (is this pose a statue somewhere?)

We hiked, and hiked, and hiked some more!
We saw a couple of amazing, old mining shafts, a natural hot pool,
and a beautiful waterfall!

Clara was a trooper!

Adam, Clara and Tatum on one of the first hikes.

This was on the hike up to the hot spring,
we had to cross a FREEZING river.
Look closely at the picture: we followed Adam and Clara,
then we crossed again where Greg is.
It was so, so cold! But we had so much fun!

Absolutely amazing scenery!

Our tough work paid off! The water wasn't too hot- just right!

Clara and Tobi throwing rocks in the water
(Clara could have spent hours doing this!)

Adam caught a fish using a lure.

Tonya, Taryn and Greg making homemade ice cream.

Here we are at the waterfall. It was a steep hike with amazing rewards!

Adam and Greg

Greg talked Adam into dunking his head in the waterfall.
Remember it was early June in the Colorado mountains!
It was so cold! What a rush! (Notice the cheers from Greg!)

Tobi, Clara and Taryn.
Clara had such a great time with all three of the girls.
They are such great girls, and wonderful examples for our little Clara.
I was so impressed how caring and considerate they are.
Well done, Mom and Dad!

On the way back from the waterfall, we found wild rhubarb!
We picked some hoping something yummy would come of them.....
sad to say nothing ever did, but they sure made for some cute pictures!

We had such a great time! We appreciate the Cummings family for their friendship and their hospitality! We hope this will be a yearly tradition! : )
